Terri Irwin has unveiled the extremely unusual private agreement she has with her celebrity children Bindi and Robert.

Terri Irwin, the widow of Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin, has opened up about a surprising contract that keeps the Irwin family in check whenever one of them goes to post on social media.

The 61-year-old Irwin matriarch revealed the unusual family pact during the latest episode of The Apple and The Tree podcast, sharing a surprisingly candid look at life behind the scenes at Australia Zoo.

She explained that she has what she calls an informal contract with her children, Robert and Bindi, ensuring she never uploads anything without their approval first.

Calling herself a boomer, Irwin admitted she depends on her kids to keep her from “saying something dumb” online.

“As a family, we still bounce off each other with everything,” she said.

She laughed about moments when Robert and Bindi have gently corrected her, recalling them saying, “You can’t do that with your hands, it looks like a gang sign,” prompting her to reply that she had no idea.

Irwin told podcast hosts Richard Wilkins and his son Christian, she cherished how her kids still come to her for advice too, describing it as “very nice”.

She went on to gush about Robert and Bindi, calling them “amazingly good kids” and highlighted she felt blessed by how close they are as a family.

Irwin said she would have supported them moving anywhere in the world to chase their dreams but added that they loved working at Australia Zoo and have chosen to stay.

The comments come after Robert Irwin lifted the Mirrorball trophy as the winner of the American version of Dancing with the Stars.

Fans flooded the comments of Ms Irwin who shared posts of Robert’s performance with admiration.

“Is there nothing the Irwin’s can’t do? Absolutely fabulous and love the family support,” one user wrote.

Another follower said he was “so handsome” and someone else joked they would “buy it if he’s worn it”.

“The world collectively loves the Irwins. We are so proud of Robert and it’s been a joy seeing you and Bindi there to cheer him on every week,” another commented.

While Robert’s charm continues to make headlines, Terri has kept her private life quiet, telling Stellar Magazine she is perfectly happy being single.

She said she has never felt the need to date again since Steve’s death almost two decades ago, and explained that she “found her happily-ever-after” and still has “a lot of love” in her life.

Steve, known worldwide as the Crocodile Hunter, has died in 2006 after being pierced by a stingray while filming a documentary.
