And just like that, The Block is over for another year, with WA police officers, Taz and Britt, taking home the top bid at auction.
The 2025 season, set in the picturesque regional Victorian town of Daylesford, was the first season to begin with five identical houses that were practically built from the ground up.

On Sunday night’s auction, House 3 ended up selling for $3.41 million with an incredible $420k profit for the parents. Add their competition winnings $100k to that and they’re taking home a neat $520,000. Not bad!
It’s an amount that will be ‘life-changing’ for Britt and Taz, who are parents to four-year-old Carter and two-year-old Myla.
“We’re going to pay off the mortgage and maybe take a little holiday and treat the kids to a couple of nice special things,” Britt told Mamamia.
“But most of all, it’s the breathing room — we can spend more time with the family, work a bit less, we can try and pursue our careers now, follow our dreams a little bit while still being police officers.”
Sadly, the finale wasn’t without its disappointments. Two teams’ houses were passed in, with Em, Ben, Han and Can all not selling their Daylesford properties at auction.
“It was hard watching it back. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room when the auction was happening with the other houses,” Britt said.
“We honestly thought everyone was going to steamroll ahead of us and make some incredible money and when that didn’t happen, it was just a sickening feeling because everyone has given up so much to be here… it was just devastating.”
The high reserve price of $2.99 million set for the auction left many fans baffled. Considering the property and land size, the area, and the price comparables, many have questioned why the reserve was set at almost $3 million — Taz and Britt included.
“I don’t think there’s a person around today that’s going to say that those reserves were fair. They independently set those reserves, so there’s nothing you can really argue about them with,” Taz said.
“But if we’re going off the market, if we’re going off real estate advice, if we’re going off everything that is valued today, those reserves were astronomically high. They put everyone on the back foot and… it’s a recipe for disaster, and that’s what we’ve seen last night.”

The couple believes it was a big mistake. “No one’s ever happy with reserve prices, but we haven’t seen results like this in 10 years — I think that speaks volumes,” added Britt.
As far as the season’s drama that unfolded — especially between the winning couple and Sonny and Alicia — it doesn’t sound like time has healed the wounds.
“We’re definitely civil. You never want to end on a bad note, but we went through the highs and lows, and pressure does things to people,” Sonny said.
“It is not all going to be sunshine and rainbows. Everyone’s trying to make the best for themselves and… I feel like I could call up one of these contestants and have a chat with them about anything.”
As their relationship with Sonny and Alicia stays ‘civil’, they found an everlasting friendship with Em and Ben, who watched the finale with the couple last night.
“We’ve definitely remained closer to Em and Ben, they’re just beautiful people inside and out, and in a similar life stage to us right now and a similar age,” Britt said.
“We truly appreciate them, and that’ll be a long-lasting friendship.”
In response to Sonny’s claims that Britt, Taz, Em and Ben had gone silent on the group chat, this is what Taz had to say: “Oh no, everyone’s still in the group chat… everyone catches up with everyone and the group chat is alive and ticking.”
With a historic win and half a million under their toolbelts, the WA couple don’t have any plans to do it all over again for an all-stars season — at least, not anytime soon.
“I wouldn’t love to, but I think Britt would just drag me along, but it was bloody hard work,” Taz said.
“I think if we were to do it again, we’d just have to do it a little bit differently.”
