Kyle Sandilands previously made a bold threat about his Melbourne radio future. The latest ratings suggest he may soon have to make good on that promise.
KIISFM will be able to save a dollar and dust off the old “Thanks for making us the 8th most popular show” billboards in Melbourne after the under-pressure Kyle & Jackie O breakfast show lost ground in the latest and sixth radio ratings survey of 2025.
The duo dropped by a whisker, 0.1. Still, it was enough to see them beaten by 3AW’s Ross Stevenson and Russel Howcroft (+1.3 to 20.3), GOLD104.3’s Christian O’Connell (+0.8 to 10.9), Fox FM’s Fifi, Fev & Nic (+0.5 to 9.5), Nova’s Jase & Lauren (-1.6 to 8.4), Smooth’s Mike Perso (-0.2 to 7.8), Triple M’s Mick in the Morning with Roo, Titus and Rosie (-0.7 to 7) and ABC Melbourne’s Sharnelle Vella and Bob Murphy (+0.9 to 6.4) and slide back a position from seventh to eighth.

The loss to a strengthened ABC Local Radio will hurt the pair, with Sandilands previously threatening to pull the pin in Melbourne if the program failed to build on its meagre gains.
In Sydney, where the gap between the two highest rating breakfast shows and the rest of the playing field widened, Sandilands and Henderson posted a 13.6 per cent market share to finish second behind 2GB breakfast talkback star Ben Fordham with 16.8.
Fordham’s results in the latest GfK survey saw him lift by 2.6 in the survey period from July to September – the best result in Sydney breakfast for the survey – while the Kyle & Jackie O show dropped by 1.7 share points, recording the worst result.

Jonesy & Amanda followed in fourth with eight (+0.1) while Smooth and ABC Sydney with Craig Reucassel tied in fifth with 7.8 (down 0.3 and up 0.2 respectively).
Well back in the Sydney field were Triple M with Beau, Cat & Woodsy with 4.9 (-0.4), Triple J with 3.9 (+0.5) and 2DAY’s Jimmy & Nath with Emma with 3.6 (-0.3).
