Robert Irwin has left Dancing With The Stars viewers in shock and tears after his performance saw him dance with both dance partner Witney Carson and his sister Bindi. The emotional performance was inspired by a dance Bindi performed on the show 10 years ago, which was also a tribute to their late father, Steve Irwin.

Bindi’s original dance was to the Leona Lewis song ‘Footprints in the Sand’, with the then-17-year-old scoring 10s across the board for the emotional performance. And Robert has now echoed his sister with a perfect score as well.

His dance was to the same Leona Lewis song, and Bindi surprised audiences by joining her brother in the final moments of the dance. The crowd went wild as the performance ended with clips of Robert with his dad being projected on the floor of the ballroom.

Robert was overcome with emotion, and was embraced by Witney and Bindi after falling to the ground.

It wasn’t just the judges who loved the performance, but fans online loved it too.

“When Bindi came out I absolutely sobbbbbbbed,” one person wrote of the moment.

“No one more deserving of the first perfect score of the season,” another said.

“I will never emotionally recover from this,” wrote a third.

Countless others said they were sure that Robert and Witney would win this season. The perfect score comes after weeks of fans saying the Australian deserved the highest score for several of his performances throughout the series.

Robert pays tribute to his dad Steve Irwin

Before his performance, Robert shared a sweet video of Steve taken almost 22 years ago, which showed the moment that Bindi was told that her younger brother had finally arrived.

In the clip, Bindi said to her dad that, despite his name being Robert Clarence Irwin, she was going to “call him Brian, for short”.

“It’s like the whole reason you’ve been put on this earth is to do this,” Steve said in the emotional clip, while holding his son.

“That’s what it seems like.”

Robert captioned the heartwarming clip that his foxtrot dance was “inspired by my sister and it’s in memory of my dad”.

“My family is everything to me, and I can’t wait for this special night,” he said.

One of Robert’s followers commented: “You can see the depth of your dad’s love for you in his eyes.”

“Beautiful family and your dad, what a man!” another added. “After all these years still brings a tear to my eye.”

“The man loved his children so much,” wrote a third.

“It’s so sad that he was taken from them so early, making me tear up.”

Robert shared a photo of Steve holding a newborn Robert, and wrote, “This one’s for you, dad.

“It’s going to be a special night on @dancingwiththestars.”
