Here’s what we know about actor Adam Scott away from his role on Severance
As fans prepare for the long-awaited return of Severance on Apple TV+, let’s dive into the life of actor and comedian Adam Scott, who stars as Mark Scout.
Perhaps best known for his role as Ben Wyatt in the hit NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation, he has appeared across a wide range of comedy series and films as well as the occasional dramatic role.
His latest hit project, Severance, follows a team of employees who have their memories split between their work and home lives, essentially creating whole new people who work for the mysterious company, Lumon Industries.
Although he keeps his personal life relatively private, we do know some details about his goings-on outside of his Hollywood career.
What do we know about Adam Scott’s personal life?
The latest personal update from Scott, 51, happened during a promotional interview for Severance on TODAY, along with director and executive producer Ben Stiller.
Severance’s season two premiere was cancelled due to the fires in Los Angeles and Scott thankfully confirmed his family who live there are safe.

Severance star Adam Scott shared a personal update during the LA fires
“Family’s good,” he said. “My mother and father-in-law lost their home, along with thousands of others.
“So we’re all just doing what we can to help out.”
Scott usually doesn’t share personal updates on his social media, primarily using his Instagram account to promote his latest projects.
However, he shared a rare post about his wife Naomi Sablan in August 2023, writing: “This is the 25th birthday of my brilliant, beautiful, hilarious, foxy wife Naomi that I’ve been lucky enough to spend with her. Yup we met in 1998.
“My partner in life and work, I love her so much I’ll disintegrate into a fine powder if I try and explain. I’m so insanely bonkers lucky, I mean good lord…as are our kids who get her as their mom…happy birthday my dear.”

Scott married Naomi Sablan in 2005
He shared a carousel of photos of Naomi and their two children together along with the heartwarming tribute. The pair were married in 2005.
Naomi is a film and television producer and has worked on the film The Overnight and the TV series Ghosted, which both starred Scott along with Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s Craig Robinson in the latter. Her upcoming projects include Double Booked and The Saviours.
In addition to Scott’s roles in Severance and Parks and Rec, you may recognise him from the TV shows Party Down, The Good Place and the animated series Inside Job, starring his former Party Down co-star Lizzy Caplan.
He has also appeared in the films Madame Web, Krampus, The Aviator, Step Brothers and several others. Although he didn’t appear in the original film, Scott had a main role in Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later, the Netflix sequel to the 2001 film which catapulted several comedy actors to stardom, including his Parks and Rec co-star Amy Poehler.

Scott missed out on another iconic sitcom role
While Scott has enjoyed a successful Hollywood career, he missed out on being another major part of comedy history when he auditioned for the US remake of The Office.
Behind-the-scenes footage has revealed he auditioned for the role of Jim Halpert, which would ultimately go to actor and now director John Krasinski.
One final fun-fact about Scott is he’s a huge, life-long fan of the band R.E.M. and even made an appearance as an extra in the music video for their 1992 song Drive. His love of the band carried over to his Parks and Rec character Ben.

The Severance star appeared in an REM music video back in the 90sDon’t Miss
R.E.M. was also one of the many musical subjects of his Earwolf podcast, which began as U Talkin’ U2 To Me, before changing its title to R U Talkin’ R.E.M. Re: Me?, which then changed formats a second time into a Red Hot Chili Peppers discussion titled R U Talkin’ RHCP Re: Me?.
However, this format was quickly abandoned and renamed U Talkin’ Talking Heads 2 My Talking Head, before finally switching topics again to Bruce Springsteen, called U Springin’ Springsteen On My Bean?.
