Matt Poole has well and truly moved on from his ex-fiancée Tammy Hembrow.

The former Ironman, 35, announced his engagement to girlfriend Annelyse Oatway in a romantic seaside proposal in Palm Cove, Queensland, on Sunday.

Sharing the happy news on Instagram, Matt posted a series of photos showing the moment he popped the question during a sunset stroll along the beach.

In the first photo, Annelyse beamed as she flashed her stunning engagement ring, resting her hand on Matt’s chest.

‘Let’s plan a wedding, Mrs Poole,’ he captioned the post, alongside heart and champagne emojis.

The influencer looked radiant in a brown crochet bikini top, patterned sarong and a silk headscarf in shades of green, orange and gold.

She accessorised the look with a red beaded necklace and dark sunglasses, her nails painted a soft pink.

Matt looked relaxed in a white short-sleeve shirt with matching shorts and a beige cap as he smiled proudly beside his new fiancée.

The following shot captured the magical proposal moment, with Matt down on one knee in the sand as the couple kissed under the palm trees with the ocean behind them.

Fans and friends flooded the post with congratulations – including Annelyse’s ex-husband, Love Island Australia star Matt Zukowski, who was among the first to comment.

‘Congratulations guys! So happy for you both,’ he wrote, adding a heart emoji.

Other well-wishers included athlete Max Beattie, who wrote ‘LFG,’ and The Only Dress Hire, which commented, ‘Bless, congrats, my beautiful.’

The engagement comes just weeks after Tammy was spotted reuniting with her ex Matt on the Gold Coast, where the former couple were seen co-parenting their three-year-old daughter Posy.

Tammy, who also shares two older children, Wolf and Saskia, with her former fiancé Reece Hawkins, has since been linked to AFL star Bailey Smith.

It comes after Tammy and Zukowski announced they were ending their marriage in separate social media posts.

Since then, Matt has admitted he felt ‘hurt’ watching his former partner move on so quickly with footballer Smith after their break-up.

The Love Island star also hinted that he was the one to end things between them, despite speculation it was Tammy who took the lead.

‘A couple of months ago, I made one of the hardest decisions of my life,’ he revealed on his Where’s Your Head At? podcast with Anna McEvoy.

‘I decided to leave a relationship that I found was not right for me,’ he continued, before adding, ‘It was unhealthy for me.’

Matt and Tammy got engaged in December 2023 after just three months of dating.

They tied the knot almost a year later, in November 2024, but rumours of a split began to circulate earlier this year.

In June, just seven months after tying the knot, the pair announced their divorce.
