Samantha Armytage is leading the helm as host of the first Australian season of The Golden Bachelor.

Her career and personal life have seen countless changes in the past year alone.

In 2024, Samantha confirmed she was leaving Channel Seven after 21 years. This was the same year Samantha confirmed her divorce from husband of four years.

Samantha Armytage’s career:

Her most recent career move was starting as host of Channel Nine’s latest dating reality series, The Golden Bachelor 2025.

But this wasn’t her first run on a dating series. Prior to The Golden Bachelor, she acted as host on the Channel Seven show, Farmer Wants A Wife.

Samantha worked at Channel Seven for 21 years before announcing her departure in August 2024. She confessed to the Daily Telegraph that it was a “bittersweet” decision, but her chapter at Seven had simply come to an end.

Her break into journalism actually began with Channel Seven in 2003, joining the team as a news presenter on Seven News Sydney. Later, she hosted Weekend Sunrise before becoming the co-host of Sunrise in 2013.

She remained on Sunrise with David Koch until 2021.

Is Samantha Armytage in a relationship?

Samantha and her husband of four years, Richard Lavender divorced in late 2024. The journalist confirmed the news to The Telegraph.

“All breakups are hard, but it’s somewhat lessened by the fact it’s amicable and we wish the best for each other,” she said.

Ten months later, Sam broke her silence on her divorce in an interview with Stellar Magazine: “I don’t think anybody leaves a marriage without thinking it through quite deeply. You don’t just decide one day and leave the next.”

Since the separation, people have become very curious as to who Samantha is dating now. Reports even speculated that she was dating The Golden Bachelor’s Barry Myrden.

“I mean, the Bear rumours I just find absolutely hilarious. Can you imagine? Plot twist: ‘Armytage runs off with the Bachelor’. No, I did not do that,” she joked with Yahoo Lifestyle.

Samantha isn’t currently dating anyone, but her heart is open to love again.

“I’m keeping my options open. I am fine. Don’t worry about me. I’m having fun…I’ll be very good at choosing this time,” Sam said on The Jess Rowe Big Talk Show podcast.

“Discernment is my new middle name…when you have a high profile, you don’t always attract the right types.”
