The Blockheads are well and truly on the home stretch now!
There are just four days till the final Room Reveal and spirits are high on site, mostly courtesy of Britt and Taz’s ridiculous garage door.
Even GMac cracks a smile looking at it.
You can see it if you squint. (Nine)
With just days to go, it’s all about taking big swings while you still can.
For House 3, that means building an outdoor cinema space behind their shed (and their real garage door to be revealed on Sunday).
Next door, Han and Can’s big swing is actually a big gate.
And in House 5, where they have no money left, the big swing is to… just finish, they hope.
“We need to rob a bank,” Robby reckons.
He’s far less enthused than Mat is to get stuck in as labourers in their garden, so comes up with another way to keep himself entertained.
It involves his best mate and a fake snake:
As well as completing their front yards, this week is the final week to complete any unfinished work inside the house and fix any defects.
Feels like a good time for expert tradie Taz to jump on the jack hammer.
There’s absolutely no chance that will add a dozen more defects to the list!
We’re nervous. (Nine)
As the season draws to a close, there are many goodbyes to share – starting with baristas Tina and Shayla at McCafé.
Not only have they kept everyone fuelled with caffeine, but they’ve also given out plenty of cash to their favourite rooms each week.
None of which were Robby and Mat’s, but they’re totally cool with it:
It’s the final Friday, which means Shelley’s here for the final walkaround!
But before her and Scotty hit the street, he can’t help but brag about the gift he received from the Blockheads earlier in the week, just like a kid on Christmas Day.
Scotty’s big question for the teams is to name their ‘best week and worst week’, but their ‘worst’ is perhaps Shelley’s response to Han and Can’s giant torii gate entrance.
Not Shelley’s best poker face! (Nine)
She’s seriously worried that House 2 have narrowed their market and Can is a little (a lot) scared to hear it.
As they wrap things up, Scotty explains this is episode 999 of The Block. That means Sunday’s Room Reveal is the big 1000, and to mark the occasion he invites Shell to join him to read the feedback and announce the final winner of the season!
In House 4, Alicia is splashing cash and challenge wins to arrange some major ‘wow factor’ for their front yard.
But up the road in House 2, their wows are coming courtesy of Dan – and they’re not the good kind.
It’s less ‘wow, that’s a cool life-size kangaroo sculpture’ and more ‘wow, I can’t believe they just did that without the necessary inspections’.
You know Dan means business when he’s got hands on hips. (Nine)
A concrete truck has arrived outside their driveway, which immediately concerns Dan.
He races to see what is being poured, yelling “that hasn’t been approved”.
House 2 landscaper Christian begs to differ, but Dan orders him to stop as their framework needs a lot of work first.
It’s now a race against time as they work to fix it before the concrete goes off.
Next door, Britt and Taz are planting the last tree in their front garden – and it has a very special meaning for them.
It’s a hazel tree, which is also the name of a daughter they lost during pregnancy.
The couple explain that they’re big advocates for speaking openly about pregnancy and infant loss, which is common but still often seen as a taboo topic.
“We’ve spoken about Hazel many times, with family, with friends and now with the Australian public,” Taz says.
With just a couple of days left, and Auction Day on the horizon, now is the perfect time for a visit from All Stars, 2024 winners Maddy and Charlotte.
They get a tour of the homes and offer some words of encourage.
To them, it’s all about creating a point of difference – and coincidentally, House 2’s is about to be installed!
House 2 have finally completed their concrete job, but they’ve now got an even bigger one.
Like, four metres big.
Their giant torii gate needs to be lifted into position and safe to say, everyone’s nervous.
And honestly, fair enough. (Nine)
After the day they’ve had (or the week, or the… weeks) it’s no wonder they’re anticipating something is about to go very, very wrong.
But they needed a win, and it slots right into place without issue!
…Although, their neighbours are not as happy.
Oh no. (Nine)
“I just don’t get it,” Taz admits, while Sonny wonders if they’ve lost their mind.
Luckily, they’re not judges!
On Sunday night, it’s the final push to the final Room Reveal. From late mishaps to goodbyes, and of course awarding the prize that could win one team the entire competition, there is still A LOT to pack in.
We doubt you need convincing at this point, but make sure we see you there – it’s going to be epic!
