Britt and Taz may have had a laugh about their “secret” garage plans, but their latest addition holds a much more special meaning.

The couple planted their very last tree of the season on The Block, dedicated to the daughter they lost during pregnancy.

“We had discussed planting a Crepe Myrtle which we call a ‘Hazel tree’,” Britt explained.

“We call it Hazel’s trees, this is our daughter we lost pretty late on,” Taz revealed.

The couple said they planted the exact same tree in their hometown back in WA after Britt had a miscarriage for a girl they called Hazel.

The parents explained that they’re big advocates for speaking openly about pregnancy and infant loss, which is common but still often seen as a taboo topic.

“We’ve spoken about Hazel many times, with family, with friends and now with the Australian public,” Taz said.

Britt and Taz credit The Block’s Dan and Dani for “leading the charge with telling their story” too.

Early on in the 2025 season, Foreman Dan and wife Dani Reilly bravely opened up about their late daughter Billie during a pre-start meeting.

Tears filled the site as Dan and Dani’s story touched the lives of the crew and contestants.

“To be able to start those conversations with people, I think it’s a really big thing,” Britt reflected.

While Taz said: “To be able to speak about it in such a public forum, is something I’m really proud of.”
