My Kitchen Rules dished up controversy on Tuesday night, after some contestants called out their rivals Lil and Lol’s ‘rude’ behaviour when preparing a dish.
The shock incident occurred during Tuesday night’s suspenseful episode, which saw the Queensland-based best friends face the challenge of preparing a complicated dessert in just 90 minutes.
‘We are making a sticky date pudding! Non-plant-based is always better,’ the pair cheekily told rivals Justin and Will, who were preparing the same dish with vegan ingredients.
Lil and Lol’s cheeky demeanour won them no favours as their dish did not properly set in time, while their competitive nature raised the eyebrows of their rivals.
‘Imagine you sit there and go, “Oh my God, theirs is better than mine”,’ fellow contestant Bailey sniped to three others, clearly unimpressed with Lil and Lol’s overconfidence.
‘It’s like rocking up to an event wearing the same outfit as somebody else. Somebody is obviously going to be wearing it better,’ Victorian player Rielli chipped in.

Meanwhile, Justin and Will told the cameras it was particularly stressful to be making the same dish as Lil and Lol, as the judges would likely prefer one over the other.
‘This has added extra stress; the judges can compare their conventional sticky date to our plant one,’ Justin said.
‘They have access to a range of ingredients – eggs, milk, butter. Plant-based is definitely a disadvantage,’ Will added.
However, the judges found it hard to compare the two dishes, with both Colin Fassnidge and Manu Feildel admitting both puddings were great in their own ways, advancing both teams to the next round.
This year’s series of the popular Channel Seven competitive cooking show has served up plenty of drama.
Last month, a suspenseful episode saw Mark storm off after a fiery exchange with fellow contestants Michael and Rielli.
The trouble started during Lol and Lil’s Instant Restaurant when ‘meat master’ Michael talked up his talent for cooking spare ribs.
Mark wasn’t having it, reminding the Queenslander he’d scored just a three for his recent tongue dish — and claiming he could outcook him ‘any day’.

Things took a nasty twist when Michael’s partner Rielli interjected to make a crack about Mark’s height, telling him, ‘When you can reach the bench, you can say that.’
The ill-timed jibe did not go over well with Mark, who appeared angry after Rielli’s remark.
‘I don’t need people talking to me like s**t,’ he said, before storming off.
Mark did not hold back during his debrief alongside his cooking partner Tan.
‘Michael and Rielli say things like that because they are insecure that their cooking isn’t good enough, but for Rielli to mock me about my height, I’m not gonna tolerate [that],’ he said.
Rielli stood by her comment, saying of Mark’s reaction: ‘If you are gonna dish it, you better take it as well.
‘If you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen.’
