The Amazing Race: Celebrity Edition 2025 contestant and daughter of AFL legend Brendan Fevola, Leni Fevola, has praised her dad for the way he handled the alleged “homophobic” incident that took place between TikTokers Luke and Sassy Scott and brothers, Ant and Dan Middleton.

While The Amazing Race is known for its wholesome reality TV moments, this year’s season has been rocked by a behind-the-scenes incident that resulted in the disqualification of the Middleton brothers.

Last week, Brendan — who appeared on this season alongside his daughter, Leni — opened up about the alleged incident on The Fox’s Fifi, Fev & Nick radio show, detailing what reportedly happened between the TikTok stars and brothers.

“I know this is a pretty tough topic, and some stuff went on earlier in the show. I know you guys can’t really speak about it, but I was there,” he said.

“I witnessed what one particular contestant did to you boys, and he said it to me and said it to you previously. I just want to say to you boys that I’m sorry for what happened to you. I wasn’t privy to it [earlier on], and you guys were getting homophobic slurs thrown your way…” he alleged.

“It’s just not on. I confronted the person, and then whatever happened, happened after that… but I went back to my room, and I was rattled. I don’t get rattled; it’s very hard [to rattle me].”

Further in the segment, Brendan revealed that he’d threaten to leave the show if the Middleton brothers were not booted for their alleged behaviour.

“I was shaking, and Leni was like, ‘What’s wrong, Dad?’ I said, ‘This is what’s happening; we’re leaving the show tomorrow if that person is still on the show, we’re done’. So, we said the same thing to the producers,” Brendan shared.

Reflecting on the incident, Leni admitted she was “proud” of how her dad handled the situation and that she wasn’t surprised by his actions.

“That’s just who Dad is as a person,” she told Chattr.

“I wasn’t shocked by how he handled it. Obviously very proud of him, but that’s just who he is.”

Brendan praised Network 10 for how it handled the situation, adding that the cast “moved on from it” after it happened.

“We all just moved on from it, and we’re all there to support each other,” he told the publication.

“The next day, we moved on, and we raced, and everyone had a great time.”

Unfortunately, Brendan and Leni have left the competition on its seventh leg. You see, on Monday night’s episode, the radio host competed in a full race day alone after Leni fell ill.

However, after completing all the challenges solo, placing second on the check-in mat, Brendan decided it was time to leave the comp.

“I’ve used all my tickets, man. I’m gonna have to check out,” Brendan told host Beau Ryan at the check-in mat.

“Go home with my kid. Take her home to her mum and sisters.”

Following the emotional exit, Brendan said he made “the right decision” on tapping out, revealing on the Fifi, Fev & Nick show that he was “dehydrated” and “delirious” by the time he met Beau.

As for the alleged incident between the Middleton and Scott brothers, the TikTokers have since opened up about the encounter.

Speaking to the Sydney Confidential, the pair claimed that Dan “approached us six times, making remarks and gestures that we found homophobic, offensive, intimidatory, and disturbing”.

“Each time he (Dan) came over to us, the encounters felt increasingly more aggressive.

“At one point, he was right up in our faces, surrounded by some of the other cast members, who seemed to us to be as uncomfortable as we were,” they added before revealing Brendan had physically stepped in, in an attempt to diffuse the situation.

Dan has yet to speak publicly on the alleged incident. However, Ant told PEDESTRIAN.TV, “Unfortunately, I’m not at liberty to disclose any information as I had absolutely nothing to do with this situation and due to confidentiality, they’re not allowed to tell me anything”.

When news of the alleged incident first surfaced, a spokesperson for Network 10 confirmed an Amazing Race: Celebrity Edition team had been disqualified due to “breach of the production’s code of conduct” before adding that the incident occurred “on a day off from production”.

“Network 10 takes the health, safety and well-being of all contestants seriously,” the statement read.

“Following a breach of the production’s code of conduct by one contestant, on a day off during production, a team from The Amazing Race Australia was disqualified and swiftly sent home.”

The Middleton brothers have seemingly been edited out of this season, despite being listed on the cast list.
