But fans are calling for a different spin-off!

It feels like Australia’s inaugural season of The Golden Bachelor wrapped for a single day before fans started wondering about season two.

Taking the leading man role was 61-year-old Canadian-born Barry ‘Bear’ Myrden, who met with 20 incredible women in their 50s and 60s in the premiere episodes on October 20, 2025.

While Bear may have made TV history as the very first Golden Bachelor, viewers were enamoured with the ladies as they candidly revealed their stories of heartbreak, love, and family with host Samantha Armytage.

The first season felt like it was over in a flash with only nine episodes. In the end, Bear chose to continue a relationship with Sunny.

Now, reality TV fans are questioning if there will be another season of The Golden Bachelor in 2026. At the moment, Channel Nine has not officially confirmed the shows future – but they don’t have to, because casting is already open for season two.

How to apply for The Golden Bachelor Australia season two:

Casting for the new season is officially open! Many of the requirements are similar to those laid out in the first season.

“Are you in your 50s or 60s and looking for love in your golden years? Or do you know someone who deserves another shot at their happily ever after?” the official page read.

“We are looking for Australia’s next Golden Bachelor and many incredible women who are excited to find love again. Join us today for an adventure of a lifetime!”

The casting is open to Australia-wide residents, with different links for men, women and nominating someone else.

Will there be a Golden Bachelorette Australia?

We weren’t joking when we said fans loved The Golden Bachelor 2025 contestants…

Soon after some ladies were eliminated, fans were calling for their search for love to continue in a spin-off, The Golden Bachelorette. Two ladies in particular were being suggested: Jan and Janette.

New Idea asked Jan if she would be interested in the role, to which she replied, “yes, yes I would.”

Runner-up Janette was just as excited by the opportunity, telling 9Entertainment, “yes absolutely.”

However, radio presenter Bianca Dye has also shown her interest in leading a spin-off.

“Well, I would absolutely love to do The Golden Bachelorette, but obviously I don’t even know if they’re planning on doing one, so I would definitely put my hand up,” Bianca told New Idea.
