EXCLUSIVE: Bear and Sunny are elated to finally move forward with their relationship after seven months of keeping it secret from the public.

In the emotional finale of The Golden Bachelor, Bear declared his love for Sunny on a mountain top in South Africa.

“We talk every day, mostly twice a day–. There’s been a couple of very secret getaways but they were few and far between,” Bear told 9Entertainment.

Despite not being able to meet up as much as they would’ve liked Sunny said their relationship has definitely grown stronger.

“It been hard, we wanted to see each other especially when episodes were airing but we couldn’t so we were just counting down the days,” Sunny added.

Now that their relationship is out in the open Bear and Sunny are “looking forward to getting back to some normality and being able to be seen out in public”.

Bear continued: “We know there’ll be an organic meeting of the families and there are decisions to be made but it’ll come in time we’re not rushing anything we just want it to happen organically.”
Sunny beamed as she talked about Bear’s sons meeting her daughters, “Our family values really do align.”

Bear and Sunny have both been watching the show back and admitted they learned a lot about each other.

Sunny witnessed the connection Bear developed with the other women but said “it’s fine because that’s the process”.

“If I was the Golden Bachelor I would do the same,” she laughed.

Even though she understood the process she said it was, at times, difficult to navigate her feelings.

“Watching his interaction with my friends I must say I was surprised to find myself sometimes shattered. But it’s just a defence because that was with my man and it’s just hard,” she admitted.

For Bear he was surprised by the tension between Kim and Sunny. “I wasn’t privy to that,” he said.

Reflecting on the the finale, Bear said he was still deliberating his final decision in the hours before.

“I weighed everything up and it pretty much came down to the wire. I was giving both ladies the benefit of the doubt and I had feelings for both of them.

“Janette was having a very difficult time showing me that she was able to commit. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and ample opportunity but I think she just found it difficult.

“I know I made the right decision at the end 100 percent.

“Sunny is full of life and joy and if anything seeing everything play out just reassured me that I made the right decision,” he beamed of his partner.

Sunny hilariously recalled not quite being able to hear everything Bear was saying because of the wind.

“He made this long speech and I then I heard ‘love’ and when he said that I thought ‘I really just want to jump up into his arms’.”

Bear hasn’t been in touch with any of the other women since filming.

“Some of them have reached out to me but I haven’t accepted any friend requests or spoken to them.”
