“We sacrificed so much.”

When Robby and Mat’s bidding came to an end during The Block 2025 auction, it was clear they were more than disappointed.
Like the other Daylesford homes, House 5’s reserve was $2.99 million and sold for $3,099,999, totalling to a profit of $109,999.

“It’s not a great outcome but…it is what it is,” Mat said.
The boys are splitting the cash evenly, meaning they take home $54,500 each.
With their hands in their hands sitting on the couch with host Scotty Cam, the boys were expecting their home to sell for more. Their sombre mood continued as they returned to their fellow contestants and co-host Shelley Craft.
“I would rather no one clap,” Mat said.
While they were grateful for the experience, they made many sacrifices to compete on The Block.

New father Robby bid farewell to his partner Alyssa and his baby boy Brooks, missing countless milestones. While Mat is now preparing to become a first time dad himself. They also left behind their successful hairdressing businesses.
“It’s not about the money but it’s about the money. Just to cover my costs for not being in the business or the work that I said no to, it wouldn’t even cover that,” Mat said.
Robby tearfully added, “It does suck not bringing it back for the family. We sacrificed so much and especially Alyssa as a new mum, she’s the real hero.”
“Walking away with my tail between my legs isn’t a good feeling.”
Despite their disappointments during this first reality TV stint, the boys are hopeful. Mat even teased: “This isn’t the end of us… watch out Australia.”

Robby and Mat weren’t the only team disappointed by the auction results.
After receiving bids under reserve, Emma and Ben decided to pass in their home. Meanwhile, Han and Can also came to the same decision after no bidders raised their paddle. This means both House 1 and House 2 are selling outside, and negotiations are officially underway.
Sonny and Alicia were thrilled with their auction results, earning a $120,000 profit. But it was Britt and Taz who came out on top, winning a total of $520,000 – including their $100,000 prize money.
