The Australian film industry is grieving the loss of beloved actor Martin Grelis, who died this week aged 57.
Grelis’ death was confirmed on Tuesday on social media by his talent agent, Sophie Jermyn Management.
Alongside a photo of a beaming Grelis, they wrote: ‘Vale Martin. We’re so saddened to hear of the passing of our beloved client.
‘Martin was a bright spark who lit up every room he was in – a talented actor, a kind person and a wonderful soul.
‘Our condolences and thoughts are with his family and loved ones in this difficult time. Gone far too soon xx.’
The veteran actor had a career that spanned almost three decades, beginning with a small role opposite Keanu Reeves in the science fiction classic The Matrix.

His other renowned roles included playing a detective in the 2014 mini-series Schapelle, which dramatised the trial of the convicted drug smuggler.
Grelis also appeared in All Saints, Water Rats and the 2012 mini-series Mabo.
His final acting role was earlier this year in the TV series Alpha King, alongside Last King of the Cross actress Mia Pimentel.
Heartbroken fans took to social media to pay tribute to Grelis.
‘So saddened to hear this. Martin was the most lovely man. Sending condolences and love to all who knew him,’ one person wrote.
‘Sorry to hear this news. Sending love,’ a second added.
Ada Nicodemou also starred The Matrix alongside Grelis.
In 2019, her cameo role resurfaced online – and her fans loved every minute of it.
The Home and Away star, 48, appeared in the sci-fi blockbuster as Dujour.

And her look – and wardrobe – was eons away from Summer Bay’s beloved Leah Patterson.
Judging by the online reaction, Ada’s loyal fanbase has been more than happy to take a walk down memory lane.
‘To see Ada in that movie was a blast. I grew up thinking she was the most beautiful lady in the world,’ one said.
