A Married At First Sight star experienced a rude awakening on Wednesday morning when he woke to reports he was dead.

Dave Hand, who rose to fame on this year’s twelfth season of the popular reality show, took to Instagram to reveal multiple TikTok videos claiming he was deceased.

‘Unfortunately guys, I have passed away. TikTok said I am dead,’ announced the 38-year-old as he scrolled through the numerous clips.

One report claimed he had died in a car accident while another said a ‘fatal tragedy’ had occurred.

The reality star then went on to state the obvious.

‘I am not dead. I had to wake up and go to work today unfortunately… I don’t know what the f*** is going on,’ he added.

The internet is rife with false reports of celebrity deaths.

In 2021, Anthony Field was forced to console his worried fans after he was the subject of a death hoax.

The Wiggles performer shared a screenshot of a Wikipedia page entry which claimed he had died on August 15, 2021.

The 62-year-old posted to Instagram to make it clear everything was still wiggly.

‘Wikipedia had me dead yesterday!!!’ he wrote in shock. ‘Unless I’m not up with the times, I’m still here!!’

He then added a joke to say he’d only ‘died’ on stage – meaning performed badly in the past – but was otherwise well.

‘I have died a few times onstage (you’ve seen the act!) I’m back alive on Wikipedia now! Phew!’

The Wikipedia page read: ‘Anthony Donald Joseph Field, AM (8 May 1963 – August 15, 2021) was an Australian musician, actor, songwriter and producer.

‘He was best known as a leader of the children’s group the Wiggles and a member of the 1980s and 1990s DOD band the Cockroaches.

In 2009, TV veteran Richard Wilkins falsely claimed actor Jeff Goldblum had passed away.

The Wicked actor was mistakenly declared dead on the same day it was announced that Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett had passed away.

Despite Richard declaring that Jeff ‘fell from a cliff to his death while filming in New Zealand’, he brushed it off in 2017,  saying: ‘It could have happened to anyone.’

‘He apologised and I said there’s no need, that it could happen to anybody,’ Jeff told GQ magazine.

‘He gave me a copy of his book and inscribed it beautifully. It’s one of my cherished objects. If there was fire in this house, I would run in and get that first, maybe the family second.’

Jeff also admitted he had never even been to New Zealand, let alone fallen off a cliff.
