Keith Urban stunned a conservative crowd at US President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort over the weekend after breaking into a queer anthem during a lavish private gathering.

Keith Urban shocked guests at President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort over the weekend when he launched into a queer anthem while performing at a high-profile private party.

Keith Urban delivered a bold performance of LGBTQ artist Chappell Roan’s Pink Pony Club during a weekend event hosted by Australian billionaire Anthony Pratt at Mar-a-Lago.

President Trump was among the attendees.

Urban, the former husband of Nicole Kidman, appeared in footage of the event singing the queer ballad along with a cover of Bob Marley’s Is This Love.

The performance surprised many in the room given the song’s strong LGBTQ themes and the conservative nature of the audience.

Urban, who was born in New Zealand, is also a citizen of Australia and the United States.

Back in 2017 he was asked whether he would ever play at a Trump event and responded, “First of all, I’m an American citizen, and I support supporting our country as a citizen.

“I would like to probably answer that question when it comes up,” before adding he tries to “do what’s right”.

Social media users reacted quickly to Urban’s bold choice of music.

“Well… I can’t help but wonder how @chappellroan feels about Keith Urban singing her song at Mar-a-Lago,” an Instagram user wrote.

“They got an immigrant singing a queer person song,” added another.

“Singing Pink Pony Club at a Trump event might be a gag. He might have done this on purpose,” another viewer speculated on X.

Several high-profile Aussies were also at the Palm Beach event, including Pauline Hanson and Gina Rinehart.

Mr Pratt donated $US10 million to Trump’s campaign and pledged to invest $US5 billion in his American manufacturing operations.

“Pratt Industries is the largest individually owned manufacturer in America, thanks to the great manufacturing economy President Trump is building,” Mr Pratt wrote on LinkedIn alongside a photo of himself dining with the former president.

The performance comes as Urban broke his silence on his recent divorce from Nicole Kidman.

Urban shared a post over the weekend promoting his new US reality TV series The Road, hosted by Blake Shelton.

In the clip, Urban shared a look back at some of his questionable hairstyles over the years.

‘You know you learn a lot when you’ve been on the road for more than a few years… especially when it comes to your hair. Right @keithurban??? @theroadcbs #TheRoad,’ Shelton captioned the post, which Urban shared to Instagram.

In The Road’s first episode, Urban spoke openly about the challenges of being on tour, describing moments of being “completely lonely and miserable” while away from his family.

“Where do we start? It’s a calling, and you’re going to do it or you’re not going to make it,’ Urban said.

“When you wake up on a tour bus at 3:30 in the morning, sick as a dog, in the middle of nowhere, and you’ve got to play your fifth show that night… missing your friends, your family, completely lonely and miserable. You ask yourself: ‘Why am I doing this?’”

In recent weeks, rumours have emerged that Urban was fed up with Nicole’s relentless work schedule or that the Grammy winner grew weary of his wife’s greater global fame.

According to a source who spoke to American tabloid Radar Online, the demise of the marriage started in January following the release of Urban’s latest album, High.
