For those that may not know, Angel isn’t the only hooper in the Reese family.
Her brother, Julian, is also a basketball player who just wrapped up a four-year career at the University of Maryland.
The Terrapins forward posted a second consecutive 13 PPG and 9 RPG season on the way to an All-Big Ten honorable mention.
And over the weekend he added another nice milestone to his NBA Draft resume.
On Saturday the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament announced its All-Tournament team, which included Reese as one of the P.I.T.’s top stars.
That was enough to earn a shoutout from his big sister on X, who said: “Averaged a double double! Proud of you @Reese10Julian.”
Reese helped the Terps to a 27-9 record this year that included a Sweet 16 matchup vs. eventual national champion Florida. The senior big man had 12 points, eight boards, three assists and two steals in that game but it wasn’t enough to knock off the Gators and they lost 87-71.
Angel has been locked in on the P.I.T. throughout and has always been the No. 1 supporter of her brother’s basketball career.
On his senior night, the WNBA star sent Julian a heartfelt video message since she couldn’t be in attendance.
“JuJu, it’s your sister. I just wanna wish you a happy Senior Night. I’m sorry I can’t be there tonight, but I’m really, really, really, really super proud of you and all that you’ve done over four years. You’ve created your own identity to who you are and what Julian Reese is,” she said.
“You represented Baltimore, you represented the city, you played in front of all our family, in front of our friends. Through all ups and downs, you stayed there, you stayed the course,” Reese continued.
“… I’m super excited for your next journey. You know your sister is always right there. I’m your No. 1 fan, and you’re graduating this year too, so I’m super proud for that too.”

Reese is expected to be a borderline second-round pick in the upcoming draft but may go undrafted and have to fight for a roster spot. No matter what though, his sister will clearly be behind him.
