Golden State Warriors fans have been holding their breath after Steph Curry exited yesterday’s game against the Toronto Raptors with a hard fall onto the hardwood. Today, the MRI results came in.
According to ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania, the MRI on Curry came back with only a contusion and no structural damage. While he is expected to miss the start of the team’s long road trip, he only needs treatment and will not have to go under the knife.
“MRI on Warriors star Stephen Curry’s pelvic area confirmed a contusion and no structural damage, sources tell ESPN. Curry is expected to miss the start of Golden State’s six-game road trip, beginning Saturday in Atlanta, as he receives treatment over the next few days,” Charania wrote on X.
The Warriors are currently 41-29 with 12 games left on the schedule but haven’t clinched the playoffs just yet. While they are almost guaranteed a spot in at least the play-in round, these next few games will determine if they get to avoid having that extra series first.
Curry has been averaging 24.2 points and 6.0 rebounds per game with the Warriors this year. He currently leads the league in three-point attempts and conversions while boasting the best free-throw rate in the NBA.

The Warriors are 7-3 in games that Curry hasn’t played this year though, so there may not be much need to panic over his short-term absence.
If Curry can get healthy by mid-April, the Warriors should be in good shape heading into the postseason.
