ESPN analyst Brian Windhorst may want to stay off social media for the next few days.

Windhorst has gone viral several times during the second-round series between the Boston Celtics and New York Knicks. Fans have noticed that he doesn’t have anything positive to say about Tom Thibodeau’s squad.

Even after the Knicks upset the Celtics in Game 1 by erasing a 20-point deficit, Windhorst refused to give them a ton of credit.

“They had to win this game, because the circumstances that gave them this opportunity may not present themselves again,” Windhorst said.

“They were saying to each other on the court, like, we’ve been here before, we can do this, and that’s a cool thing to say, and you buck up your teammate, but the truth is that they had not, they had not been here before and they had not done this against the Celtics or any of the top teams in the league.”

Fast forward to the present day, where the Knicks hold a 3-1 series lead over the Celtics. Despite how well they’ve played over the past week, the main talking point right now is that Jayson Tatum is out with a torn Achilles.

While talking about this series on Tuesday afternoon, Windhorst said he’s not ready to say New York will make it to the Eastern Conference finals.

“First off, I am not giving this series to the Knicks just yet,” Windhorst said. “That’s not a commentary on the Knicks, that’s a commentary on the Celtics. They were 8-2 this year when Jayson Tatum didn’t play.”

Countless NBA fans crushed Windhorst for his remarks. They’re convinced that he genuinely hates the Knicks.

“Brian Windhorst’s consistent lack of respect for Jalen & the Knicks on a national level is actually genuinely gross,” one fan wrote on X. “It’s the insidious kind of disrespect, the kind where he’s not bold enough to say it directly but clear in his intent whenever it’s time to acknowledge the Knicks.”

“Brian Windhorst despises the Knicks and was so overly dramatic with calling out Knicks fans for celebrating the win,” a second fan commented.

“Brian Windhorst looks incredibly uncomfortable and upset that he was to talk about the Knicks winning a game,” a third fan added.

“Not even posting Brian Windhorst’s bs anymore, he is clearly doing this on purpose,” another fan said.

Windhorst has been with ESPN since 2010. Although he’s a well-respected reporter, he has made a ton of TV appearances on “Get Up” and “First Take” over the past few months.

With the NBA playoffs heating up, Windhorst is expected to remain a key contributor on ESPN.

Obviously, Knicks fans aren’t thrilled about Windhorst’s role. If that’s the trade-off for a Finals appearance though, they’ll gladly accept it.
