“To the fans: You make a difference for us. I just want to make that abundantly clear. Without you, the Knicks aren’t the Knicks,” Brunson shared in a personal letter published in The Players’ Tribune.

“The unconditional love and support has been phenomenal. It’s an honor to play for New York and play in front of this organization, the city and the fan base. I do not take it for granted one bit.”

What Knicks, Nets need to find out about in camp

Brunson’s leadership has been instrumental in the Knicks’ recent playoff run. He delivered a standout performance in Game 6 against the Detroit Pistons, scoring 40 points and hitting the decisive three-pointer that secured the Knicks a 106-103 victory, eliminating the Pistons and advancing New York to face the Boston Celtics in the second round.

Despite facing criticism and taunts from opposing fans, including a derogatory billboard in Detroit labeling him a “mother flopper,” Brunson remained composed and focused on leading his team.

His resilience and dedication have not gone unnoticed, earning him the NBA’s 2025 Clutch Player of the Year award.

As the Knicks continue their playoff journey, Brunson’s message serves as a rallying cry for fans to stand by the team. “Please, I need you with me,” he implored, highlighting the importance of unity and support during this pivotal time.
