The Memphis Grizzlies reached the postseason after a tough year. Jaren Jackson Jr. stood out, becoming a key figure. However, not everyone is a fan. Former NBA player Kendrick Perkins criticized him with strong comments, adding fuel to the ongoing debate around his impact.

The Memphis Grizzlies went through a season full of ups and downs. Even so, they secured a spot in the NBA playoffs. Ja Morant played a key role in that achievement.
He led the offense with confidence and consistency. However, Morant did not do it alone. Jaren Jackson Jr. also stepped up as one of the team’s offensive leaders.
Still, not everyone appreciates his contributions. Former NBA player Kendrick Perkins recently shared a strong opinion on the player.
“I believe Ja Morant but I don’t believe Jaren Jackson Jr. Let’s have an uncomfortable conversation real quick. He is the most overhyped player in this league.
He’s not even a top-ten big in my eyes, and here’s why I’m going at him… Do you realize 43 was my jersey number in Boston? Do you realize four and three is what I averaged?
You an All-Star, bro. They need you to step up at the biggest times. I don’t care—it’s a make-or-miss league,” stated Kendrick Perkins on ESPN.
Jaren Jackson Jr. is under fire at a crucial point in his career. The spotlight is on his playoff inconsistency. He scored just 4 points in Game 1 and 26 points in the Game 2.
That swing in performance drew criticism, especially from voices like Kendrick Perkins. They argue Jackson should already be leading the team in the postseason. So far, he has not met those expectations.
The Grizzlies, however, have not had an easy matchup. Facing the Oklahoma City Thunder is a serious challenge. Memphis have lost both playoff games against them.
Competing with a team as solid as OKC is never simple. The Thunder have a deep, balanced roster. They have maintained consistency all year, both in the regular season and now in the NBA playoffs. That makes it even harder for Jackson to stand out.

What the Memphis Grizzlies must do to keep their playoffs Conference Semifinals hopes alive?
The Memphis Grizzlies entered their first-round series against the Oklahoma City Thunder with one clear goal: Win at least one of the first two games on the road.
However, the Thunder dominated both matchups and left no room for surprises. As a result, the Grizzlies now return home facing immense pressure.
If they want any shot at advancing, they must win both games in Memphis. That will not be enough to clinch the series, but it would force a decisive Game 5.
Still, fans will be heartbroken if their team does not reach Game 4 with a real chance. The situation is difficult, but there is still a path forward.
At this stage, the Grizzlies need their stars to take charge. Jaren Jackson Jr. has to step up and lead by example. His performance could be the difference between survival and elimination. There is no more room for hesitation, only results will keep Memphis alive.
