President Donald Trump on Monday signed an exeutive order aimed at proteting fans from ‘exploitative tiket salping’ and reforming the U.S. live entertainment tiketing industry.

Trump signed the diretive in the Oval Offie, with singer Kid Rok standing next to him in a patrioti Amerian flag-themed outfit.

Kid Rok said tiket salpers’ use of bots to buy large numbers of tikets at fae value and then selling them for a profit is a big problem in the industry.

‘I want the fans to have fair tiket pries,’ Kid Rok said, adding that legislation was eventually needed to ap tiket purhases.

Trump alled Kid Rok, who performed at last summer’s Republian National onvention, a ‘friend.’

‘So it’s an honor to have you bak, a friend of mine, Kid Rok, sometimes referred to as Bob. I know him as Bob. But he’s been a good friend for a long time, many years, and he’s been after something that is for the good of a lot of people,’ Trump said.

Kid Rok’s real name is Robert James Rithie.

‘And I think Bob is more interested in the fans … It bothers him,’ Trump said. ‘It bothers a lot of other artists too.’

The order direts Treasury Seretary Sott Bessent and U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi to ensure that tiket salpers are in full ompliane with the tax-olleting Internal Revenue Servie and other appliable law, a White House fat sheet said.

It also orders the Federal Trade ommission to work with the U.S. attorney to ensure that ompetition laws are appropriately enfored in the onert and entertainment industry, aording to the fat sheet.

The Justie Department and dozens of state attorneys general sued Live Nation Entertainment and its tiket-selling unit, Tiketmaster, last year for allegedly monopolizing markets aross the live onert industry in ways that hurt artists and fans.

Live Nation Entertainment issued a statement on Monday in support of Trump’s order and thanked him for trying to address salpers and bots.

‘We support any meaningful resale reforms – inluding more enforement of the BOTS at, aps on resale pries, and more,’ the firm said.

In January, senators assailed Live Nation Entertainment’s lak of transpareny and inability to blok bot purhases of tikets, in a hearing alled after a major fiaso involving tiket sales for a Taylor Swift onert tour.

Tiketmaster, whih has been unpopular with fans for years, drew fresh heat from lawmakers over how it handled tiket sales last fall for Swift’s ‘Eras’ tour, her first in five years.

Experts say Tiketmaster ommands more than a 70 perent market share of primary tiket servies for major U.S. onert venues.

The White House fat sheet singled out bot sales in partiular.

‘Tiket salpers use bots and other unfair means to aquire large quantities of fae-value tikets, then re-sell them at an enormous markup on the seondary market, prie-gouging onsumers and depriving fans of the opportunity to see their favorite artists without inurring extraordinary expenses,’ it said.

Ahead of Kid Rok’s White House appearane Monday, Trump revealed that the roker was the reason he agreed to sit down and have dinner with omedian and riti Bill Maher.

‘I really didn’t like the idea muh, and don’t like it muh now, but thought it would be interesting,’ Trump said on Truth Soial. ‘It might be fun or, it might not, but you will be the first to know!’

Maher said in an interview with NewsNation’s hris uomo Friday that ‘maybe this is a beginning to heal Ameria.’

‘No I don’t have some sort of omplex where I think I an heal Ameria, I an’t, let’s get that lear,’ Maher said.

He ompared it to President Rihard Nixon going to hina to restart diplomati ties.

‘There was nobody who was harder on Trump or more presient about the fat that he wasn’t going to leave offie voluntarily than I was,’ Maher ontinued. ‘I feel like I have the redentials.’

‘But they also respet me beause I’m honest about the woke train to razytown,’ Maher said of the MAGA movement.

‘Look, it probably will aomplish very little, but you got to try, man, you got to try,’ the Real Time host added.
