Miley Cyrus broke her silence Tuesday after fans accused her of being ‘rude’ and ‘dismissive’ during a signing event held at record store Rough Trade East in London last Saturday.
In fan footage uploaded to Reddit, the 32-year-old pop star and Naomi Campbell eagerly chatted with each other while seemingly ignoring several shy fans approaching them hoping for a smile or brief interaction.
‘They bought her album and her behavior towards them is so inconsiderate and dismissive,’ Reddit user @99TigerStripes commented.
‘I wonder if they also paid for the signing/photo op too.’
In response to her celebrity etiquette being questioned, Miley (born Destiny) posted an Instagram slideshow featuring nine videos of seemingly perfect, smiley fan interactions.
Cyrus explained that she and the 55-year-old nineties supermodel were only supposed to be signing limited vinyl copies of their new single Every Girl You’ve Ever Loved – two full weeks ahead of the official release date on July 11.

‘The record store requested no photos due to the unexpected last-minute turn out,’ the three-time Grammy winner – who boasts 348.3M social media followers – defended.
‘But we knew the night needed to be captured. Thank you [Vijat Mohindra] for snapping those in-the-moment shots. To everyone who came out to celebrate our single, we love you.’
Indeed, a cameraman is heard in each video repeatedly instructing Miley and Naomi’s fans to turn around: ‘Right behind you for the picture!’
Cyrus’ statement came the day after Campbell publicly praised her ‘memory and graciousness’ with ‘our fans’ whom she also thanked: ‘We felt your love and adored meeting you.’
The Streatham-born Brit suffered an embarrassing scandal last year when the Charity Commission in the UK banned her from being a charity trustee until 2029 following their investigation into her shuttered organization Fashion for Relief.
The Charity Commission found evidence of mismanagement and misconduct, including the misuse of funds for personal expenses like luxury hotels, spa treatments, and cigarettes.
In February, Naomi filed a legal appeal, insisting she’s ‘never been paid a fee for my participation in Fashion for Relief nor billed any personal expenses to the organization.’
