On Tuesday night, Washington Wizards rookie Alex Sarr continued a strong run of form, recording 20 points, 12 rebounds, six assists and three blocks in a 104-98 loss to the Indiana Pacers.

While he shot just 1-of-6 from beyond the arc, the 7-footer remained efficient overall, going 8-of-17 from the field.
The performance carried historic weight, with Sarr becoming the first Wizards rookie to post a 20/10/5 stat line since Jordan Crawford in 2011, according to StatMuse.
It’s the latest indication of both his expanding role in Washington’s rotation and his long-term star potential.
Sarr set the tone early, erupting for 16 points in the first quarter and making an impact on both ends of the floor. His rebounding, passing and rim protection added to a well-rounded display.
Though Indiana made defensive adjustments to slow him in the second half, Sarr remained a key contributor, even as his scoring cooled.
The game continued a strong post-All-Star stretch for the 19-year-old. Since the break, Sarr is averaging 16.4 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.5 blocks per game.
While his shooting remains inconsistent—he’s converting 40.4 percent from the field and 31.9 percent from three—his willingness to stretch the floor with two made threes per game highlights his ability to function as a modern, versatile big.
In that same span, Sarr has scored 361 points, the second-most among rookies behind Rookie of the Year frontrunner Stephon Castle (476). His 43 made three-pointers rank third, and his 57 assists rank sixth among rookies.
Both are notable achievements considering many of his peers are guards. The numbers speak to his all-around game and rare skill set at his size.
As the Wizards lean further into their youth movement, Sarr’s emergence, alongside fellow rookie Bub Carrington, offers genuine optimism.
With just a few games left in the regular season, all eyes are on the French standout, who’s performance against Indiana only heightens the excitement surrounding his future in D.C.
