Christine Baranski has responded to rumors that she is dating lesbian pop singer King Princess.

The 73-year-old Gilded Age actress first sparked romance speculation back in March when she was seen holding hands with the performer, 26, at opening night of The Picture of Dorian Gray.

Rumors were further fueled earlier this week when the pair were spotted holding hands once again on Monday while attending the re-opening of Mamma Mia! on Broadway.

However, Christine’s rep told Us Weekly on Friday in a statement that the two stars are simply just friends.

‘Christine and King Princess are strictly friends and nothing more. They have never been in a relationship, nor are they now,’ the rep said, before adding the dating rumors are ‘pure speculation.’

On Wednesday, King Princess — whose real name is Mikaela Mullaney Straus — jumped to Instagram to share photos of both herself and Christine at Monday’s event.

In the snaps, the pair could be seen walking the red carpet together and the singer penned in the caption: ‘#loveislove.’

Some social media users flocked to the comment to offer their thoughts on the short caption, with one typing, ‘My fave thing about this is idk if this is real or not.’

Another added, ‘I approve whatever is going on here,’ and a fan shared, ‘I don’t know if this is a joke but I love it either way.’

And based on King Princess and Christine’s May conversation with Interview Magazine, it appeared that the two stars were just pals.

In the write-up, King Princess warned Christine to take caution with how she explained their bond, warning that ‘people will talk.’

The Trolls star subsequently teased, ‘Our first date — let’s give them something to talk about — we actually got dressed up and finally had dinner.

‘We sat at the bar, ordered our martinis, and suddenly we’re talking about our grandmothers who deeply affected and influenced our lives. I think that’s where we profoundly bonded,’ she recalled.

Elsewhere in the interview, Christine said her newly-minted connection with King Princess is ‘possibly the greatest gift.’
