“I can’t believe we’ve won the title,” Will shared following their MKR win, with Justin adding, “I can’t stop shaking.”

As winners, Justin and Will have earned the coveted MKR title and a life-changing $100,000 in prize money.

For the grand finale, both teams cooked four courses – canape, seafood, meat, then dessert – totalling a 100 plates of food. Scoring these mouth-watering dishes were chefs Colin Fassnidge and Manu Feildel.

For their first course, Justin and Will dished a canapé of Smoked Ham Hock and Gruyère Croquette with Sauce Gribiche.

Next was their seafood course, a South African Pickled Kingfish with Brioche and Green Papaya Chutney. The dish was a tribute to Justin’s dad.

“As a dad, you want your kids to always look up to you, as I look up to my dad. If I can be half the man that that man is up there, my job’s done,” Justin said.

For their meat dish, Justin and Will served a Red Wine and Rosemary Braised Beef Short Rib with Parsnip Purée and Beets. Lastly, the dessert was an “incredible” Dubai Chocolate Éclair.

“It looked like something I would get in a degustation menu in a restaurant,” Colin praised.

Amongst the crowd, watching Justin and Will race around Kitchen HQ were their families. Upon their win, Will shared: “I’m lost for words. To have our families with us, we hope we did them proud.”

Justin added: “We’ve accomplished what we’ve set out to do. We made our kids proud; we made ourselves proud. That’s amazing.”

“It’s a long time we’ve been away from our kids… we’ve sacrificed our family life to be here in this competition.”
