Leaked audio captures JJ Redick’s explosive courtside rant as Lakers battle Timberwolves’ rising intensity.

Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick gestures in the first quarter against the Denver Nuggets at Ball Arena.

Game 2 between the Los Angeles Lakers and Minnesota Timberwolves was already expected to be intense, but leaked audio from courtside microphones gave fans a whole new level of drama and showcased just how fiery things got behind the scenes.

Head coach JJ Redick’s explicit rant at his players during a critical moment perfectly captured the pressure and raw emotion brewing inside the Lakers’ locker room.

Midway through the third quarter, with the Lakers struggling to maintain focus, the leaked audio caught Redick snapping after an out-of-bounds play left Rui Hachimura confused and Luka Doncic unsure where to inbound the ball.

Furious, Redick called an emergency timeout, stormed onto the court, and exploded, yelling,

“The f**k is going on? Jesus f**king Christ. The f**k are you guys doing? Come on!” Luka, about to inbound the ball, froze mid-motion, unsure what just happened.

As the Lakers gathered on the bench, Redick continued his tirade: “This is why I called a timeout! Looking around… stop looking around!

This is the f****** playoffs!” His message was clear: enough with the confusion and lack of urgency. Redick later explained postgame that it wasn’t frustration, but simply coaching,  a moment to switch his team’s focus back on.

The fiery moment worked. After Redick’s outburst, the Lakers went on an 11-2 run to stretch their lead and eventually secure a critical 94-85 win to even the series 1-1. LeBron James brushed it off with humor later, saying, “We know JJ is gonna spazz out from time to time. That’s JJ. You listen to the message, not how he says it.”

Meanwhile, the rest of the game was equally heated. Another mic caught an explosive exchange between Austin Reaves and Naz Reid.

After Reid set a hard screen that was called an offensive foul, he screamed at Reaves, “You a b***h! You a b***h!” Reaves didn’t back down, firing back, “Shut the f*** up!” before Reid snapped again, threatening, “I’ll slap the s**t out of you.”

It highlighted just how physical and personal this series has already become, with players on both sides refusing to back down.

Anthony Edwards also got involved in the chaos, trying to bait LeBron James into a technical foul after the Lakers star voiced frustration over a foul call.

After LeBron shouted, “Now y’all wanna call that dumb a** s***,” Edwards immediately turned to the referees yelling, “That’s a tech! That’s a tech!” The referees ignored him, and LeBron simply laughed it off, leaving Edwards fuming.

The clock is ticking for Lakers to address flaw that's sabotaging their success

Before the game even tipped off, Edwards was already stirring the pot, crashing the Lakers’ warmups by complaining loudly, “We ain’t got no good balls.

Imma need one,” while grabbing a practice ball. Luka Doncic, amused, casually handed him one with a laugh, defusing the moment with cool composure.

Despite the trash talk and wild moments, Luka channeled the energy perfectly, exploding for 31 points, 12 rebounds, and nine assists, including a dominant first quarter where he individually outscored the Timberwolves.

As the series shifts back to Minnesota for Game 4 and beyond, the bad blood is boiling, and it’s clear that every possession and every word matters. This battle is only getting nastier, and judging by the intensity of Game 2, fans should buckle up for more fireworks.
